HERE TO ETERNITY: Reflecting on our past can help guide our decisions in the present so we live with an eternal perspective.
BIO: Pete Heule is a Minnesota native, with additional roots in New York. After serving a mission in Germany he began a long career on the IT side of International Banking while studying history at the U of M. He and he wife Candace have six wonderful children. Never far from his love of history, family vacations oft intersected early American history. They have walked the trails and trials of the early Saints and studied the revolution from Boston to the Library of Congress. High points included scaling a steep hill to honor a relative who fell in the liberation of France, and walking with John and Abigail Adams – holding and reading a few of their original letters to each other. A letter from his favorite historical writer, David McCullough, hangs on their wall. David reminds us “Nobody ever lived in the Past.” Pete remains committed to visiting as many as possible in their Present.

We strongly recommend you purchase your vehicle permit before leaving home, as park offices can be busy places and may not be open when you arrive. If you need to buy a vehicle permit at the park and there is nobody in the office, you can buy one online following the instructions on the self-service kiosk. If you bought your vehicle permit online, it will come in the mail. Print the temporary permit and use it until your permanent one arrives. If you can't print the temporary permit, or if you bought your vehicle permit over the phone, just write your purchase confirmation number on a sheet of paper and leave it visible on your vehicle dash when you are in a park. Some libraries offer a free 7-day pass. Here is the link to check if your library participates.
